I tried to get through this one, but just couldn't force myself. The White Dragon was painfully slow and centred on such a whinging, bratty, chauvinistic, immature little twerp that I kept finding myself frustrated and annoyed rather than entertained and/or enlightened.
I've heard that the Harpers' Hall series is much better. I hope so, or I may give up on Pern altogether.
