To be completely honest, I have no idea how to review this book.
Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Was it perfect? No.
Was it coherent? Sometimes.
I liked that Ms. Hale was trying something new, and the book was kind of a YA mash-up of sci-fi, romance, superhero and adventure genres, with a main character who was a one-armed, home schooled, half-Paraguayan unashamed science geek. Sounds awesome, right?
Sort of. The end result was a great ride, but only if you accepted that you had no idea what was going on or really why and just hung on for dear life. There was just too much going on, and it felt like the quality of the characters and the plot suffered because of it.
I'm glad I read it. I think. I'm definitely glad I borrowed it from the library instead of buying it.
