(Book #1 of the In Death series)
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁
This is an interesting world, and I can see why the series is so popular. I like both Roarke and Eve, and the mystery, while not stellar, wasn't completely predictable. A couple of issues, though. For one, I'm not a huge fan of the "I'm falling for you in spite of myself" trope. Also, there was a whole lot of focus on less-than-savory behaviour that I can't tell you too much about without giving away some major plot points.
Ultimately, while I enjoyed the book, I finished it with the sense that it didn't quite live up to the potential it contained.
