Fire by Kristin Cashore was a one-sitting read for me. I couldn't put it down.
This is a fascinating world, and a story that raises questions about the responsibilities that come with free will and how the choices someone makes impact who they become. I'm still kind of enmeshed in processing it, having finished the book just last night, so I don't have a whole lot to add right now. Except that you should go read this book.
