(Book #2 of the Undead series)
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁
Oh, Betsy. *shakes head* What are we going to do with you?
I'm not a huge fan of the "chick lit" genre (mostly because I can't stand its portrayals of somewhat-less-than-intelligent women obsessed with the superficial), but this series is fun. Betsy, while somewhat-less-than-intelligent in some respects and obsessed with the superficial in others, still manages to be a character that I truly like. She's brave and loyal, with a core of integrity and honesty that's refreshing. She genuinely cares about the people in her life, even if she isn't always aware of the fact (Eric!).
The plot was predictable to the extreme, and some of the situations Betsy got herself into were a bit far-fetched, but the dialogue had me snickering (there may even have been a gigglesnort or two) and the pace was quick enough that it ultimately didn't matter.
Overall, it was a light, fun read.
