I so enjoyed this book. Had my mother not been visiting, it would have been a one-sitting read.
The Good Stuff:
1) The dragons are unlike any other manifestation I've come across before. Think Vulcans who can bite your head off. Literally.
2) The way the relationship between Seraphina and Kiggs develops is refreshing. Without giving too much away, Ms. Hartman has created a mature, real relationship between two mature, real people.
3) Orma - he's a dragon. And he's awesome.
4) The world is richly detailed, and fully developed in a way that that begs for further exploration.
5) Seraphina's mind garden was great. Again, can't say too much without giving things away, but I just loved this concept!
6) The absolutely gorgeous cover art!
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
1) Umm...that it ended?
