(Book #3 of the Graceling Realm series)
Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁
What a series! Where do I even begin in an attempt to review this installment? This isn't a story about happy endings or the ultimate triumph of good over evil. It's about the work that comes after the happy ending.
Bitterblue picks up the story in Monsea, 8 years after the end of Graceling and the death of King Leck. The child Bitterblue we met before is now an adult and a queen, and is working to bring healing to her people, and herself, after the terror that was her father's rule. And it's a hard, messy, painful process that highlights both the greatness and the fallibility that is humanity.
It's certainly not an easy read, but it's definitely an entertaining and worthwhile one.
