Enjoyable. Not remarkable, but enjoyable. To a point. (ha)
I liked how the relationship between Vlad and our heroine played out. Pretty realistic (for a value of realistic that includes having a relationship between a seriously messed up undead prince and a former circus sideshow freak with superpowers).
Lots of torture, though mostly referred to obliquely (you know it's going on but don't get the details). Also, not sure I'm down with the vampire lovin' that's described in painful detail. Emphasis on the "painful". I don't care how much pleasure-juice (yes, I just wrote that) your vampy teeth supposedly produce, sticking them there does not seem like a good idea. Ahem.
But the emotional stuff? Spot on! And lots of action to go with it.
So, like I said earlier: enjoyable. Not remarkable, but enjoyable.
