It's taking me a while to review this book - I can't seem to make up my mind about it. Let's try some lists! :)

The Good Stuff:

1) The relationship between Cal and Niko. I love the whole brother dynamic, and the strength and depth of their connection.

2) The lack of multiple POVs. Everything is seen from Cal's perspective, which means that sometimes you're not privy to what's happening "off-screen", as it were, or you only catch glimpses and have to fill in the blanks yourself.

3) The characterization of Robin Goodfellow. He's awesome.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

1) [*spoiler!!*] The switch in perspective (sort of) when Darkling possessed Cal was confusing. It took a few pages before I had any idea what was going on.

2) Cal is an adolescent boy, which is not my favourite type of character. Kudos to Ms. Thurman for making me not hate him, but he still kind of annoyed me at times.

3) As bad as the Auphe were supposed to be, they were almost a non-entity in the story. At no point did they seem legitimately threatening.

All in all, it was a good read. If you like UF, but are tired of the standard ass-kicking female lead, give Nightlife a try.
