Argh! I just finished reading this, literally minutes ago, and am currently working to keep myself from throwing breakable objects at hard surfaces!
I love this series. You can go back and read my reviews for the rest of the books if you want to know why. All of those elements are still here, in spades.
But it feels like half a book. The whole point in the start was to make the trip to the West March. And they aren't there yet! They have to stop and fight an epic battle along the way. One in which I'm still not sure what happened. There was no real resolution - not exactly a cliffhanger, but unsatisfying nonetheless.
And now I have to wait until Cast in Sorrow comes out to find out what happens next. Gah!
