Cherie Priest will forever have my thanks for creating Adrian, the Cuban ex-Navy Seal drag queen sidekick. He is the sole reason this book is getting 3 maple leaves instead of 2, because otherwise there wasn't really anything remarkable about it. Great premise, and I enjoy the neurotic but still kick-ass heroine, but the writing is kind of prosaic, and the "love interest" really falls flat. I got the 2nd book in the series at the same time as this one, but couldn't dredge up enough interest to spend more time in this world so didn't bother reading it.
